1) Oxy-Powder can be used for periodic colon cleanse. It acts as a mild laxative. Its herbal ingredients smoothly remove compacted waste matter and toxins from the bowel and help to cleanse and tone them.
2) Massage relaxes the muscles and is a well known natural home remedy for constipation. Massage your stomach in following ways –
a) Start from the right groin,
b) Move up the rib cage,
c) Massage around to the left groin.
This way, you work the muscles in the same way as the stool travels through gastrointestinal tract. You can massage the soles of your feet in a similar circular motion.
3) Liquid remedies of constipation are –
a) Drink plenty of water. It is essential for high fiber diet.
b) Take warm milk before going to bed. For severe cases, include 2-3 teaspoons of castor oil in milk.
c) Take 2 glasses of lukewarm water early in the morning (empty stomach) and do brisk walk for 5-10 minutes.
d) Drink a glass of water by adding lemon juice and a pinch of salt. It is beneficial in any type of constipation.
e) Take one teaspoon of triphala churna along with milk or warm water before going to bed.
4) Take a glass full of warm milk with a teaspoon of ghee daily before going to bed. It eases constipation.
5) Take wheat instead of rice, if you are constipated.
6) Eat two apples daily (in morning). Instead of cutting them into slices, bite them with teeth.
7) To prevent constipation, eat papaya daily in an empty stomach.
8) Flax seeds have laxative properties. Mix one teaspoon of flax seed to a glass of water and drink before going to bed, for a clear bowel.
9) Soak dry figs in water overnight and eat early in the morning to prevent constipation.
10) Make a thin powder of sunflower, sesame, almonds and flax seeds. Eat 1 tablespoon of this powder with fruit juice or salad (at least for a week) to get natural relief from constipation.
11) Spinach (either raw or cooked) is good for clearing bowel system, digestive tracks and many other disorders.
12) Orange juice cleans the bowel system and is beneficial for colons. Take it any time during the day.
13) Take 1-2 teaspoons of Aloe Vera juice two times a day to get relief from constipation.
14) Eat 2 ripe bananas between meals to relieve constipation. Green bananas are constipating. So avoid them.
15) Rhubarb is a natural laxative. Cook rhubarb and eat it sweetened with honey. You can also bake it in a pie.
16) Garlic (raw or cooked) is known to be good for getting relief from constipation. You can eat it mixed with onions or with milk for best results.
17) Honey is a very mild laxative. Take 1 tablespoon three times daily by mixing into glass full of warm water. As it is high in calories, so don’t use it as a daily preventive.
